HOLIDAYS July 5, 2023

Happy 4th of July 2023!

HAPPY 247TH BIRTHDAY TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

You’re a grand old flag! You’re a high-flying flag! And forever in peace may you wave. You’re the emblem of the land I love. The home of the free and the brave. Every heart beats true ‘Neath the Red, White and Blue. Where there’s never a boast or brag. Should AULD acquaintance be forgot? Keep your eye on the grand old flag!

Freedom is never won without sacrifice! A ragtag band of brothers called the “Continental Army” took on the British military powerhouse of the day….they were constantly on the brink of decimation….many times all seemed lost….but bold thinking, blind luck, bad weather, George Washington, and assistance from France kept them marching on to victory!

Thanks to the fighting spirit of the first American soldiers and militias….they never gave in, they never gave up, and they never surrendered! The United States of America is THE most powerful country in the world thanks to them and all who came after! We owe them all that we are yet we need to do a MUCH better job living up to the American idea that they fought for!

Let us continue to evolve into a better version of America where everyone is equal under the law and where a person’s character matters more than the color of his or her skin, place of birth, or sexual orientation! Let us see economic equality for all. Let us see judicial equality for all! Let us see families thrive and have the opportunity to build better lives for themselves and for their children! Let us see voting rights restored to each and every American who is constitutionally eligible to vote. Let us attain the more PERFECT UNION that we have always talked about!

I believe that America is a much better nation because diversity exists within her boundaries! We promise that the words of Lady Liberty will never be forgotten! “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
