TIME KEEPS ON SLIPPING INTO THE FUTURE!
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024!
Watching hour by hour and day by day,
The tick-tock of the clock as time slips away!
Advancing relentlessly the days they fly by,
Years racing then gone with the same hearty cry:
“Should Auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind?
Should Auld acquaintance be forgot. In the days of Auld Lang Syne?”
Towards the end of each year you may dwell in the past;
Will this New Year be better or worse than the last?
As the countdown gives way to a “3, 2, then 1”;
You will raise a full glass to the year that is done!
“In with the new and out with the old”
Is a wish for great change as each New Year unfolds!
Yet remember the “old” still has lessons to teach,
While the “new” will implore you to widen your reach!
Entwine old and new and make them as one!
Feel pride in your past and in all you have done.
May your regrets wane like the fog of late morn!
May your soul feel renewed;
May your hope be reborn!
Fervently wish to bring joy and delight
To those whom you love and break bread with this night!
Find your true passion;
Keep the flame of hope’s light.
Stop mourning the passage of time in its flight!
Each day that you live is a gift from above,
May each new breath you take be in joy, hope, and love!
